Founded during the late 1960s amidst the civil rights movement, RAP has been at the forefront of community self-determination. Our founder, George Morrison, and a generation of local activists envisioned a neighborhood where residents control their future. Today, RAP carries that vision forward with a commitment to equity, cultural pride, and economic inclusion.

A Center for Community

RAP is restoring the historic St. James African Orthodox Church at 50 Cedar Street in Roxbury to transform it into a vibrant community hub. The project will provide space for education, cultural programming, wellness initiatives, and intergenerational engagement, bridging the past with the future of Roxbury.
